An invitation to visit
Romanesque art in Berry is an art to the extent of man and his expectations, an art that is never foreign to us. Art not static or frozen, but in search of stability and balance, it uses a fully human language, where beauty is never far from the heart, in forms and images that bear the imprint of a soul supplement whose contemporary world preserves nostalgia.
Architectural features
If one cannot really speak of a Berrichon Romanesque art, there is undoubtedly a Berry Romanesque art that has its own characteristics:

- an opposition between the vaulted choir and the nave 
- research into the composition of facades, most often organised around a single portal 
- a triangular gable of the facade of blind archings
- " Berrichons passages " allowing access from the single nave to the transept.
Sculpture
The Capital Register has two large families of unequal importance: 
- capitals with a plant or animal decoration
- historic capitals, usually with high quality plastic sculpture and high symbolic value.
The painted decor
It is probably in this field that the novel artists in Berry left the purest masterpieces. We know the ensembles of Brinay and Vicq, the two largest Romanesque cycles after that of Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe. They deserve the displacement. Many others are preserved. The frescoes are never a poor or minor art.
Their achievements are remarkable, often exceptional.
