Looking through the keyhole

The Cher has long been the historical heart of France.
Philippe Auguste, Charles VII, Louis XI, this region is used to give kingly welcomes.
The kings have left their marks on the country in the white, ochre and rose-colored stone : the castles are so pleentiful they've given birth to historic routes, beginning with the route Jacques Coeur which, from La Bussiиre to Culan goes tripping down the centuries. A meaner along the Secret Garden Paths will fill you with the fresh green notes of meditation.
Don't stop there, the Cher has other princes to show you: literary ones. In the heart of the Sologne, a museum of the imagination, and at the edge of the Boischaut, there's the schoolhouse museum of Epineuil, where you'll be plunged into the novel, Le Grand Meaulnes, and its author, Alain Fournier. An echo, perhaps, of the dreams and loves of our children. Secret, hidden, cultivating the taste for indiscretion, the Cher will also arouse your curiosity. Villages modeled by the arts of the earth and fire, museums being willing to things historical, artistic or unusual, and legends of switchcraft that haunt the region, all send their charms to give this land a certain, curious magic.

Getting away from it all

Take a sip from nature's source.
Breathe, walk, swim,rest...the Berry likes to make your heart beat a little fater. and what better way than to come to a land where nature is still untouched?
Rolling hills, forests, moors, and rivers, you choose how you want to discover the Berry: on football, on horseback, or by bike. The path is as many as the land is varied.
In the north, the Sologne, the Pays Fort, and the Sancerrois may either appeal to you or excite you with their ancient forests and their hilltops brushing the clouds. Toward the east, in the valley of Germigny, the Loire southdenly runs wild where it meets the Allier. In the south, the romantic Boischaut marks your entry into the land of the novelist George Sand.
